Six lineages
Craft & Making
The hands that hold a technique. Block-printers, weavers, bronze-casters, potters, with access to the workshop, not the showroom. The work is the access.
Music & Sound
Carnatic recitals at a family home before the musicians are awake. Dhrupad in a haveli courtyard. Karnatic percussion lineages passed father to son for four hundred years.
Sacred & Ritual
Not religious tourism. Presence at practices that are not performances: the morning puja at a temple that has been lit for nine hundred years, the monastic liturgy at high altitude.
Text & Scholarship
Time with pandits who have memorised entire granthams, manuscript libraries that hold texts no university has digitised, oral traditions that exist only in a practitioner's memory.
Cuisine & Soil
The grammar of a cuisine as held by the family that invented it. Not cooking classes. Time in the kitchen where the knowledge lives, with the growers, the processors, the cooks who carry what has not been written down.
Movement & Body
Classical Indian dance lineages, martial traditions, yoga as it is practiced by the communities who developed it, not as a global fitness product but as a living philosophy with a human custodian.
